RECENT HISTORY

The Velons are a scientifically advanced alien humanoid race, their homeworld is planet Vel-Hel, Vel-Hela system - in the Alpha Quadrant, on the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. Descended from captured female Orion prisoners of war during the First Battle of Earth (9573 BC) and fathered by Velorum soldiers - born half-velorum, half-orion - the Velon are the shock troops of the Velorum Empire. Trained from childhood in the art of war, they are an elite military caste - for the Velon war is life, they are fearless and ruthless in battle and do not surrender. Because of their fighting abilities, Velon have guarded Velorum Emperors and the Lords of the Great Velorum Houses.

The Velon League - a confederation of the Great Velon Houses, presently controls over 100 star systems in the Alpha Quadrant, on the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy.

AFTERMATH OF SECOND GALACTIC WAR (14 AD)

Following the events of the Second Galactic War (352 BC - 14 AD), on Earthdate 321, at 01:00 hours, the Velorum Alliance and the Orion Alliance sign the EarthZone Accords ending the Second Galactic War. The Treaty declared Earth as a protected planet - no in the interference technological development of the planet. It created the EarthZone, a protected zone of space - 300 light-year radius surrounding Earth, to be reserved for future Human colonization.

Ghost Space was declared restricted space - no colonization allowed, the planet Tartarus also known as Ghost to be a Forbidden Planet - no landing or contact permitted. To protect EarthZone, it created the Earth Security Organization (ESO) and Earth Space Command (ESC).

Under the terms of the EarthZone Accords:

The Velorum Alliance military forces - Velorum Empire, Velon League, Imperial Vampire Empire, Centauran Dominion, Lykaion Dominion, Scorpion Dominion, and Sagittar Dominion - were withdrawn from EarthZone.

The Orion Empire military forces were withdrawn from EarthZone.

Ambassadors representing the Atlantean Empire, Dhampir Empire and Mutant Continuum were appointed to the Security Council of the Earth Security Organization (ESO).

Military Commanders representing the Atlantean Empire, Dhampir Empire and Mutant Continuum were appointed to the Military Council of the Earth Space Command (ESC).

Atlantean Black Sentinel Forces and Intelligence Operatives were assigned to EarthZone to provide for the collective defense of its territories.

Earth Moonbase: Lunar City - under the control of the Atlantean Empire, and the Epsilon Eridani Station and Shipyards - under the control of the Orion Empire, are place under the command of Earth Security Organization (ESO).

The Earth Security Organization (ESO) and Earth Space Command (ESC) assumes responsibility for the defense of Earth and EarthZone. The ESC begins conducting military operations and security patrols of the EarthZone and Ghost Space. All heavy weapons are removed from Earth; direct interstellar trade with Earth is banned; travel to Earth is restricted and requires a visa from the ESO;

The EarthZone and Ghost Space now serve as a defacto buffer zone separating the Dhampir and Atlantean Empires from the Imperial Vampire Empire and Velorum Empire. Earth Space Command (ESC) begins the expansion of the Theseus line - a series of former Orion Alliance Space Stations on the old Earth Space border, now under command of the ESO.

THE PAX ORION (14 AD - PRESENT)

With the creation of the ESO, two thousand years of peace comes to the Galaxy, the worlds of the Orion Alliance prospered during this time known as the Pax Orion. However in the worlds of the Velorum Alliance this was a period of lawlessness with the rise of criminal space cartels and wars with:

Velon League

During this time of conflict, the Velon League would remain neutral during these conflicts, choosing instead to expand its Colony Worlds in the Alpha Quadrant from 10 to 100 colonies. Interstellar trade between the Velon League and Velorum Empire would grow from 400 billion to 1 trillion credits. The Velon Navy would grow from a fleet of 100 to 900 starships, making it the seventh most powerful space navy fleet in the Orion Arm.

The Arcadian Civil War

But this time of peace would be threaten in 2016 by the events of the Arcadian Civil War, a war which could erupt into a new regional war between the Great Regional Powers - Atlantean Empire, Dhampir Empire, Sagittar Empire, Scorpion Empire, Centauran Union, Mutant Octants, and ESO/EarthZone, that would ignite a Third Galactic War.

Velon League

The Velon League is a confederacy of the Great Velon Houses which was founded on Earth in 9571 BC. The current seat of government is based, on planet Vel-Hel - the homeworld of the Velon League, which is home to the Velon High Council, the Velon High Court and Velon High Command. The Velon High Council is the supreme governing body of Velon League and is head by the Velnax - the High Lord of Velon.

SOCIETY

Velon society is based upon a feudal military system under the control of the Great Velon Imperial Houses and member world Representatives - which together compose the Velon High Council.

Imperial Service

Based on standard testing, Velon citizens are selected for the Imperial service at age 7. The Imperial service is divided into seven service classifications: Government, Corporate, Scientist, Construction, Space Resources, Security Service and Military.

BIOLOGY

The Velons resemble humans almost exactly, with the exception of growing blue eyes and blue skin. They have an average lifespan: 2,000 - 3,000 years.

Pregnancy

Velon pregnancies normally last 6 months, but with mixed species, gestation can vary. Velon children experience rapid growth and development from childhood into adults - reaching adulthood in seven human years, an Adult Orion's height ranges from between 5 to 7 feet (1.5 to 2.1 m) tall.

Adult Aging Process

At full adulthood - 7 human years, the Velon aging process slows:

aging 1 year for every 50 human years, giving Velons an average lifespan of (3,000 years).

Power and Abilities

Superhuman - strength, endurance, and speed, with enhanced eye sight and hearing, able to live in extreme cold environments. Females are born with telepathic abilities.

ORGINS OF VELONS

The Earth Colony of Atlantis

In 9600 BC, the Orions found the Earth Colony of Atlantis. In 9599 BC, interspecies relationships between the Orions and Humans produce the Atlantean race.

The First Battle of Earth (9573 BC). On Earth Date: 37-116, at 18:30 hours Earth Time, an Orion remote sensor satellite in Earth Sector Defense Area 8 - located 6.6 light-years from Earth, detected 15 unidentified warships entering the sector from the Vela constellation - traveling in FTL, on an Earth vector. The Battle for Earth would rage for 5 days and nights, on Earthdate: 37-121, at 13:09 hours, the Colony of Atlantis was destroyed. The Orions were attack by the Velorum - a technologically advanced militaristic alien race of blue-skinned humanoid, genetically engineered, super soldiers - their empire lies 815 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Vela.

The First Earth Wars (9573 - 9561 BC)

Following the destruction of the Orion Colony of Atlantis in 9573 BC, the Velorum forces would occupy Earth and Mars, the Orions forces based on Earth Moonbase: Lunar-City - cut off and surrounded, they refused to surrender. The Velorum Siege of Moonbase: Lunar City begins. Despite being heavily outnumbered by Velorum starfighters, Orion starfighters maintained air superiority around Lunar City. Orion Raven scout ships ran the Velorum Sol System blockade, to keep supple lines open with Orion forces at Epsilon Eridani Station.

Meanwhile on Earth, using Orion portal system, Orion and Atlantean special forces would wage a guerilla war against the Velorum forces on Earth. After 12 years of war, an Orion Black Sentinel Naval Force from Epsilon Eridani would break the blockade of Sol System and the siege of Earth Moonbase: Lunar City defeating the Velorum.

Birth of the Velon Race (9571 BC)

In 9571 BC, interspecies relationships between Velorum soldiers and captured Orion female prisoners produce the Velon Race, also known as "the Dark Orions and Dark Elves."

Tegon Tas was born, the Velon son of Velorum planet Commander G'Tas and captured Orion LT. Tara Tegon, he will grow up to become the First High Lord of the Velon.

Creation of the Velon Defense Forces

In 9568 BC, Tegon Tas, begins his military training joining the 1st Velon Legion - based at Space Battle Station 30 (SB-30) in the Veltrix, 36 light-years from Earth in the Vela constellation.

In 9526 BC, the Velorum Military created the Velon Naval Forces - based at Vel-Hel Station, 323 light-years from Earth in the Vela constellation - the 1st Velon Attack Squadron consists nine fast-attack Corvettes, with Velon crews and Velorum commanding officers.

The 1st Velon legion and 1st Velon Attack Squadron would see their first major combat action during the First Velorum-Orion War (9500 - 9480 BC).

The First Velorum-Orion War (9500 - 9480 BC)

Sixty-one years following the events of the First Earth Wars (9573 - 9561 BC), war erupts once again. The First Velorum-Orion War, was a regional interstellar war fought between the Orion Empire and their Atlanteans allies against the Velorum Empire and their Vampire and Dhampir allies. The war would end in 9561 BC, with the Velorum Empire controlling all of Sol system, except for Earth Moonbase: Lunar-City, which remained in control of Orion Empire forces.

The Treaty of Orion (9400 BC)

The Treaty of Orion signed in 9400 BC by the Velorum and Orion Empires would defined the colonial demarcation lines between the Empires in the Orion Arm of the Galaxy, effectively dividing the Orion Arm into two regions of exploration - North Orion (the Orions) and the South Orion (the Velorum), where each had the exclusive rights to claim newly discovered star systems. Using the Earth galactic coordinates as the basis of the demarcation line. No new Velorum colonies could be established above the declination minus 30 degrees - the Colonial Demarcation Line dividing the Orion Arm into North Orion and South Orion. Both Empires were allowed to keep all existing outposts and colonies in each others territories.

The Velorum War of Accession (8626 - 8126 BC)

In 8626 BC, the Velorum War of Accession began - a Civil War for the accession to the Velorum Imperial Throne between the supporters of House Vel and House Lor. After 500 years of war, House Vel was victorious and Emperor Ta'Vel would rule the Imperium until Ascension in 7444 BC. During the war Velon Defense Forces fought on the side of House Vel. They were rewarded for their loyalty in 8383 BC, by Emperor Ta'vel granting the Velon limited autonomy with creation the Velon High Council.

Creation of the Velon High Council (8383 BC)

Having completed their military service commitment of 1180 years in the Velon Defense Forces, the Heads of Great Velon Houses - also known as the Velon 100, met on Vel-Hel Station for the first time to create the Velon high Council - chartered by Velorum Emperor Ta'Vel as the governing body representing all Velon in the Velorum Empire. Tegon Tas was elected as Anax, the First High Lord of the Velons.

Creation of the Velon Dominion (7989 BC)

In 7989 BC, the Velorum Empire established planet Vel-Hel as the homeworld of the Velon and ceded the Vel-Hela star system to the Velon High Council, declaring it the Velon Dominion an autonomous Colony of the Velorum Empire.

Creation of the Velon League (6999 BC)

In 6999 BC, the Velorum Empire declared the Velon Dominion a sovereign League (confederation) and ally of Velorum under the leadership of Anax Tegon Tas II. From 6487-6458 BC, the Velon League remained neutral during Vampire-Atlantean Wars - a series of wars on Earth between the First Vampire Faction (First Ones) and the Rebel Alliance - Atlantean, Dhampir and Capisian Rebel forces, supported and equipped by Atlantean Intelligence Operatives based on Moonbase: Lunar City.

The Velorum Alliance (3500 BC)

In 3500 BC, Velon League Empire became a founding member of the Velorum Alliance - fighting the Second Mutant Rebellion (2070 -1530 BC), First Galactic War (1530 - 1322 BC) and Second Galactic War (352 BC - 14 AD).

In 14 AD, after the defeat of the Velorum Alliance by the Orion Alliance ending the Second Galactic War, Velon Defense Forces withdrew from EarthZone in accordance with the Treaty of EarthZone.
